‘Dune’ rumoured to be premiering at Venice

The film is rumoured to be getting a world premiere at the famous festival.

According to a story over on Deadline, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is reportedly set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival later this year. The festival kicks off annually, usually in late August and into September, and if true, would be a huge coup and would give the film a great launch platform on the big screen. Venice 2021 will run from 1st September to 11th September.

Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem lead the cast of the film which is directed by Villeneuve.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

The reports are so far unconfirmed by Warner Bros. but we’ll keep you posted.
