The line-up for the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, its 73rd edition, has been revealed via an official press conference in Paris. Festival director Thierry Frémaux announced the official selection – 24 in the main competition – including Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, and the latest Paul Verhoeven film, Benedetta. Sean Penn will also return to France and the competition with his latest, Flag Day, while Tangerine and The Florida Project director Sean Baker will debut his new film, Red Rocket.
There are also new films from Julia Ducournau (Raw), Asghar Farhadi, Mia Hansen-Løve, Jacques Audiard, Nanni Moretti,Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Ildikó Enyedi and Catherine Corsini.
