Out in cinemas from today is the new British comedy Me, Myself, and Di, a film which centers on a young woman, Janet Brown, who wins the ‘holiday of a lifetime’ to a caravan park in North Wales. Whilst there, she is persuaded by her best friend, Di (Lucy Pinder) to undergo a makeover in order to secure herself the man of her dreams.
Here is the official synopsis as provided by the distributor.
After winning the ‘trip of a lifetime’ to a caravan park in Rhyl, North Wales, unlucky in love Northerner, Janet Brown, is ready for a holiday romance. Unfortunately, taking the advice of her best friend, Diana – pretending to be the opposite of who she actually is in order to find love – doesn’t quite lead to the ‘happily ever after’ that Janet was hoping for.
It’s a sweet little film with a positive message at its heart, and indeed a throw-back to the British holiday comedies of old. Katy Clayton plays the lead role of Janet in the movie and we managed to catch up with her via Zoom to talk about her role. The actor secure the lead after initially auditioning for a much smaller part. She talks of her casting and looks back at a thoroughly enjoyable shoot pre-pandemic.
