Shooting is reportedly off and running on the next Transformers movie in the series, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and here’s some brief casting news for the character of Optimus Primal, who will reportedly be featuring in the movie.
According to film site Collider, Ron Perlman has been cast to voice Primal in the film, which will be released into cinemas next year.
Returning to the action and spectacle that first captured moviegoers around the world 14 years ago with the original Transformers, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, the film arrives in cinemas Summer 2022.
More as it comes in, but you can read Collider’s full account of the casting of Perlman at the end of the link above.
