‘Black Panther 2’ has reportedly started filming

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the full title of the new movie.

The start of production on ‘Black Panther 2’ has reportedly kicked off. The Marvel Studios sequel is said to have started filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta on Tuesday (29th June). The news comes via trade Variety who say that director Ryan Cooger and co. set to work on the highly anticipated film, which sadly will go before cameras without the first film’s lead, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020.

Most of the other cast members from Black Panther are said to be returning, though it is not known which directing the story will take in the movie. Producer and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said at the global fan event for the release of the next film in the Marvel series, Black Widow, which debuts in June, said: “It’s clearly very emotional without Chad, but everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

There’s not too much more we know as yet in terms of story, though, but as production continues and more details emerge, we’ll keep you posted.

FYI, your next Marvel fix Black Widow opens in cinemas on 9th July. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a release date set for July 8, 2022.
