Shooting concludes on ‘Lord Of The Rings’ TV series for Amazon – will air in 2022

Coming to screens next September.

We’ve learned that shooting has finally wrapped on the first season of the new Lord Of The Rings television series which is set for Amazon Prime Video. With the news comes an official still image as well as an air date – September 2022.

Specifically, the first episode will air on 2nd September 2022 with new episodes landing on the streamer each week. Amongst the cast of the as yet untitled show are the likes of Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani. J. A. Bayona is directing the first two episodes.

The new series will take way before the events of the Peter Jackson LOTR movies.

The planned Lord Of The Rings project is reportedly the most expensive television series ever made.
