This is of course a great fodder for films. Films over the last two decades have slowly incorporated more social media, to the point where we have tons of movies about it. There is a large variety of films that are out there, so we will provide a quick list of some of the best films with social media in it.

Chef

So this movie is about a man by the name of Chef who loses his restaurant job and has to find a way to make a living so he starts a food truck which helps him get close with his family as a result of this change. The movie was released in the United Kingdom during the year 2014  and it stars Jon Favreau. In terms of how social media is tied-in, the chef loses his job as a result of having a feud on Twitter with a very famous critic in the food community.

Ingrid Goes West

Ingrid Goes West is a film about a woman named Taylor who tries to form good alliances with a social media influencer who appears extremely perfect and seems to be living a great life. The movie was released in the United States of America in 2017 and was directed by Matt Spicer. It stars Elizabeth Olsen who is a familiar face to most people.

The Social Network

This film has to do with Facebook and how Mark Zuckerberg created the platform with the help of his friend. It was released in the United Kingdom as well and directed by David Fincher and then released in 2010. It won several awards such as the Academy Award for Best Music as well as for Best Writing. This film falls under the genre of drama and it is a film you should check out as the story is incredibly gripping and will give you a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes of what goes into the creation of a social media platform.

Spree

This is a recent film that was released in the United States of America 2020, also known as the pandemic year, and the film revolves around a man who wants to get famous. The man is a rideshare driver willing to go to extremely deadly limits so that he can achieve some kind of fame. It is a satire film about the detrimental effects of being obsessed with social media and it stars Joe Keery and Sasheer Zamata. A lot of people describe the film as creepy and awkward and something new in the industry of film as the majority of the film if not all of the movie is shot with a variety of cellphone cams, surveillance cameras, and other kinds of non-traditional film cameras.

Love, Guaranteed

This is also another recent film and if you are a sucker for romance films then this is the one for you. It talks about a guy who goes on a ton of dates using the dating app which he suspects to be fake as he is still single so he decides to hire a lawyer who also happens to be single to sue the app for not working. It stars Damon Wayans Jr who plays the role of Nick and a lot of people appreciate the movie as it differs from most rom coms yet it is still constructed in the same manner.
