Trailer for Justine Bateman’s directorial debut, ‘Violet’

The film had a premiere at last month’s TIFF.

Here’s the trailer for a film we first saw at last month’s Toronto International Film Festival, Justin Bateman’s superb directorial [feature] debut, Violet. The film rolls out in its domestic territory on 29th October. Olivia Munn (who is superb) leads the cast. More info below.

Synopsis: After realizing she’s spent years allowing fear to drive every decision she makes, Violet (Olivia Munn) must learn to silence her relentlessly negative inner thoughts (voiced by Justin Theroux) in order to regain control over her life.

I had this to say on the film following my screening at TIFF:

A modern glimpse into Hollywood and all of its many flaws, and a thought-provoking personal morality tale that everyone will be able to relate to in some way. A brilliant little film showcasing a promising new voice in cinema with a glowing performance from its hugely talented lead.

You can read my full review here and check out the new trailer below.

Violet opens in North America in cinemas from 29th October and then on-demand from 9th November.
