Here’s a look at a brand new documentary titled Quant, which is set to land on screens very soon. The film is the first official feature documentary celebrating the incredible life-story of the trailblazing fashion designer Dame Mary Quant. Sadie Frost directs.
One of the most influential artists of the 20th Century worldwide, Mary Quantwas at the vanguard of the style revolution of the 60s and 70s, leading the charge away from convention and conservatism through the championing of ground-breaking designs including the miniskirt and hot pants, plus an ingeniously creative partnership with hair stylist, Vidal Sassoon. Quant’s fresh designs and irreverent style shaped a generation and heralded the arrival of the ‘swinging sixties’. Her impact on the business of fashion and contemporary design can still be felt today across the globe.
The film features contributions from the likes of Jasper Conran, Kate Moss, Charlotte Tilbury and Vivienne Westwood. It will release in cinemas from 29th October.
