Jake Gyllenhaal will lead the cast of Guy Ritchie’s next film, ‘The Interpreter’

Shooting starts in January.

It has been announced that Jake Gyllenhaal will lead the cast of Guy Ritchie’s next film, The Interpreter. Shooting is set to kick off next year with principal photography set to kick off in Spain in January.

According to Deadline, Gyllenhaal will play a soldier who returns to a warzone to repay a debt to his interpreter. Ritchie wrote the screenplay for the film with  Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, who he has also collaborated with on his last three movies, Wrath of Man and The Gentlemen, as well as the upcoming Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.

The project is set up at STX.

Gyllenhaal can currently be seen in the now-playing The Guilty, an impressive turn now available on Netflix. He will next be seen in the Michael Bay movie The Ambulance.
