It has been announced that Sony Pictures’ Morbius is shifting its release yet again. The film was originally set to land in cinemas in the summer of 2020, but due to obvious reasons was pushed back. Now it seems that it will move again, this time from January to April.
Jared Leto leads the cast of Morbius, the movie based on the Marvel comic book. Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson also star in the film, which is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House).
Deadline reports the move to April.
Here’s the official synopsis for the film.
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?
More on this as it comes in.
