News reaches us that British actor Jodie Comer has exited Ridley Scott’s Napoleon Bonaparte biopic Kitbag, which is about to start shooting in Europe. Deadline reports the news of the departure, which is reportedly due to scheduling conflicts.
Covid-related scheduling issues are the reason given on the trade site. Apple, who is backing the project, is said to be, along with the filmmakers, in talks with another name to play the role of Empress Joséphine, opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Napoleon.
Comer can currently be seen in Scott’s brilliant The Last Duel, which is playing on Disney+, and will soon be seen in the fourth season of the hit series, Killing Eve.
Update: Deadline is now reporting that Vanessa Kirby is in negotiations for the role in the film. More details at the end of the link.
