Some cool news broke over the weekend that Iron Man 3 and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang collaborators Robert Downey Jr and filmmaker Shane Black might reunite on a new film based on Donald Westlake/Richard Stark’s Parker novels.
The Parker character has been seen on screen many times in the past; played by Lee Marvin in 1967’s Point Blank), Jim Brown (The Split), Robert Duvall (The Outfit), Peter Coyote (Slayground), Mel Gibson (Payback), and Jason Statham in Parker.
Said news came from Puck’s What I’m Hearing newsletter said that the new project is being set up at Amazon Studios with Downey starring and producing, alongside Susan Downey and Joel Silver.
This is really exciting news as I personally love Black’s work – all of the way back to the Lethal Weapon days, all of the ways through to The Nice Guys a few years back.
