Salma Hayek joins the cast of ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’

Some casting news now – Salma Hayek is joining the cast of the in-production Magic Mike’s Last Dance, so reports Variety. The film is the third in the popular series with Channing Tatum once again returning to play the title character.

The trade reports that Hayek will replace Thandiwe Newton, who is stepping away to deal with ‘family matters’.

“Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance to deal with family matters,” said a spokesperson for WB to Variety.

Reid Carolin wrote the screenplay for the film, which will be released on HBO Max stateside. Steven Soderbergh is returning to direct having helmed the first movie in the series.

The trilogy capper will seal off the story of Tatum’s male dancer with the first two films grossing nearly $300 million around the world.
