‘The Batman 2’ officially happening at Warner Bros.

At this week’s CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas – where cinema exhibitors gather and lots of cool movie stuff is shown off – Warner Bros. Pictures and filmmaker Matt Reeves officially confirmed that a sequel to The Batman is happening.

The Batman is one of the year’s biggest movies, raking in $760m from cinemas all over the world, as well as taking in a huge audience in its first week on streaming service HBO Max stateside. It can currently be viewed on PVOD services elsewhere, including Sky, Amazon etc. in the UK.

Reeves was in attendance at the show in Vegas and, per Deadline, said the following: “Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.”

No release date for the movie as yet, but Robert Pattinson is confirmed to return.
