There is no doubt that gambling has played a role in TV series and movies over a long period of time. The glitz and the glamour has certainly appealed to audiences all over the world. While gambling scenes can be found in movies all throughout time, there is no doubt that there are a huge number of 2000s series in which gambling played a central role and captured the imagination of audiences in a big way.

- Ozark
In more recent times, the Netflix smash hit of Ozark is one that that has featured a casino right at its heart. The Byrd family decide that they are going to purchase one as it provides them with the perfect option when it comes to being able to launder money for the Mexican drug cartel that they find themselves working for. Much of the action in the latter two seasons revolve around this setting, and there is even a long, painstaking investigation by the FBI as Marty Byrd attempts to hide everything that has been going on behind the closed doors.
- Boardwalk Empire
Boardwalk Empire is one of those original cable TV series that fans loved and critics fawned over. As you would expect from a show that focuses on the dark criminal underbelly of Atlantic City and featured such characters as Al Capone, there is no doubt that casino scenes played a big part in everything that was going on. In fact, the central character of Nucky Thompson owns his own small casino at one point in the series, before it ends up getting wiped out. - Hustle
Next up on the list, we have the British drama series of Hustle, which quickly gained a cult following and was known for the grifted that needed to take huge risks in order to get what they were looking for. The series seven episode Clearance from a Deal is the one that featured a casino, which looked at the long held and admired situation of attempting to beat the house. This is a trope that has featured in movies from Rain Man to The Hangover, but it really came to life in this series once the characters had been well established.
- The Office
On a lighter note, the US version of The Office featured a highly memorable casino episode which saw a major development for the central characters of Jim and Pam.
All of these TV series features a great deal of casino action, but there are even more that could well have been chosen. Ultimately, there is still a lot of mileage to be gained out of TV casino scenes.
