New ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ prequel in the works, led by Margot Robbie

Here’s some rather big, pleasing news. It is being reported that a prequel to the very fun Ocean’s Eleven movies is on the cards over at Warner Brothers. A director and star are already attached, Margot Robbie said to be leading the cast with her Bombshell director Jay Roach at the helm.

The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter who says that Robbie will also produce the movie through her LuckyChap company. Carrie Solomon is writing the screenplay for the movie which is said to be in ‘active development’ and not a definite green light at this stage.

Plot details are minimal at the moment but the word is that the film will be set some time before the events of Ocean’s Eleven with George Clooney. This new one will reportedly take place in the 1960s in Europe.

Shooting could take place as soon as early-spring next year, so says the report.

The ‘Ocean’s’ franchise has been a huge hit over the past couple of decades with no less than four movies in the series, the last being the all-female Ocean’s 8 with Sandra Bullock taking charge.

More news as it comes in.
