We’re hearing that Benedict Cumberbatch is set to lead the cast of Paul Greengrass’ next film, which is titled The Hood. Empire Online reveals the news that Cumberbatch will headline the project, which is currently being touted around Cannes.
Not much is known about the plot of the film, but the magazine reveals that it is a ‘period drama focused on the peasant revolt in England in 1381.’
Greengrass’ involvement alone piques interest, but with the addition of current hot property Cumberbatch, this is bound to be a winner, for sure.
Greengrass has directed the last few ‘Bourne’ movies, as well as the likes of United 93 and, most recently, Netflix western News of the World with Tom Hanks.
