There’s time for one last ‘Elvis’ movie trailer – in cinemas today

The third and final trailer for Elvis has dropped online, just ahead of its debut in cinemas globally today. Austin Butler stars as Elvis Presley in the new movie, a film we really went for and fell in love with here on The Hollywood News.

Tom Hanks also stars as Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’s manager, while Baz Luhrmann directs. The film had a world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and Luhrmann and co. have pretty much spent every minute since promoting the movie all over the world.

Here’s the official synopsis.

A thoroughly cinematic drama, Elvis’s (Butler) story is seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). As told by Parker, the film delves into the complex dynamic between the two spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).

I saw the film a month or so ago and called it ‘the definitive Elvis movie featuring a star-making performance by Austin Butler. An energetic whirlwind of a feature that’ll have you tapping your toes and swinging your hips in your chair from start to finish.’ Yes, I really liked it. You can read my full review here.

Elvis is now playing. Here’s the final trailer.
