10 films that prove Sandra Bullock is the GOAT

From Gravity to The Lost City, there’s no debate that Sandra Bullock is one of the most versatile actors of our time! We’ve put together 10 of our favourite Sandra Bullock movies that prove she is the absolute GOAT across all movie genres.

  1. The Lost City (2022)

In this year’s action-adventure comedy The Lost City, Sandra Bullock plays Loretta Sage and navigates her way through the jungle in an incredible pink sequined jumpsuit. With giant leeches and ancient tombs, there seems to be nothing that Loretta can’t handle!

  1. Ocean’s 8 (2018)

All the talk in 2018 was about the amazing cast that makes Ocean’s 8 and we’re not surprised! In this hilarious heist movie, Bullock plays Debbie Ocean (the sister of Danny Ocean played by George Clooney in 2011). Spending over 5 years planning, Ocean devises a heist to steal a necklace that’s worth $150 million at The Met Gala alongside an all-female team of specialists. Bullock’s character is clever, witty and of course, extremely glamorous!

  1. The Heat (2013)

What happens when a well-organised FBI agent meets a cop that goes with her instincts? Well, chaos (and comedy)! In The Heat, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) meets Boston Detective Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy) to team up and take down a Boston drug lord. With hilarious fight scenes and some iconic lines, this is definitely one of Bullock’s best!

  1. Gravity (2013)

Nominated for an Academy Award, Sandra Bullock delivers one of her most memorable performances in Gravity. Alongside Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical egineer who is terrified after her and Kowalski find themselves alone in space after their shuttle is destroyed following a disaster. Chilling and moving – this is definitely one of Sandra Bullock’s most outstanding roles!

Winning the 2010 Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Sandra Bullock delivers a defining performance as Leigh Anne Tuohy. When the Tuohy’s take in homeless teen Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) all their lives begin to change for the better. This film shows the importance of family, friendship and collaboration but be warned, it will make you extremely emotional!

  1. The Proposal (2009)

One of Sandra Bullock’s most famous romantic-comedies, The Proposal stars her as successful book editor, Margaret Tate. After meeting with her boss, Margaret finds out she risks deportation and conjures up a plan to marry her assistant Andrew Paxton (Reynolds) to stay in the United States. The pair then have to get to know each other better in Alaska with Andrew’s family to fool immigration before the wedding and well, it’s entertaining to say the least! With Betty White and Sandra Bullock singing “Get Low” around a fire and Bullock nakedly defending herself against a tiny white dog, there is nothing not to love about The Proposal.

  1. Miss Congeniality (2000)

“I’m not gonna parade around in a bathing suit… by the name… Gracie Lou Freebush and all she wants is world peace?” In Miss Congeniality, Sandra Bullock plays Gracie Hart, an FBI agent that goes undercover at the Miss United States pageant and finds true friendship along the way. Through her determination to protect those around her and the sarcasm of Victor Melling, Gracie pushes out of her comfort zone and ends up as the pageants’ Miss Congeniality.

  1. Practical Magic (1998)

Sisters Sally Owens (Sandra Bullock)  and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman) are two witches with a curse – any man they fall in love with, dies! One of Sandra Bullock’s first big rom-com roles is While You Were Sleeping, after saving her crush from an oncoming train, Lucy (Bullock) is confused as her crush’s fiancée and well… goes with it! That is, until she starts falling for her crush’s brother. It’s definitely a rom-com with a plot like no other but is one of Sandra Bullock’s first and most endearing rom-com roles!

  1. Speed (1994)

Imagine you’re getting the bus and it’s a normal day… now imagine you have to drive that bus and keep it over 50 mph or a bomb goes off! In Speed, that’s exactly what passenger Annie (Sandra Bullock) has to do with the help of LA police officer Jack (Keanu Reeves) to keep everyone alive! This movie is thrilling and will definitely have you on the edge of your seat throughout!
