We are hearing that Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear is set to land on Disney’s streaming service, DIsney+ in August. The film is a prequel of sorts to the Toy Story series based around the Buzz Lightyear character, here voiced by Chris Evans.
The film had a theatrical run last month and has made a $213 million gross from that cinema release all over the world. The film was received with rather luke-warm reviews though, and is far from the gleaming success, in terms of plaudits and revenue, the Toy Story movies were.
We were a little more positive about the film, though, saying in our take that it is.’a fun adventure that riffs on the very best sci-fi has to offer making it a solid, albeit not entirely necessary, companion piece to the Toy Story films. To infinity and beyond? Maybe not. But it’s a pretty good attempt.’
The film will hit Disney+ on 3rd August.
