Scorsese’s next ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ pushed to 2023

The next film from Martin Scorsese, Killers of the Flower Moon, will now hit screens in 2023, missing the awards qualification in 2022. The Apple TV+-set feature from the legendary filmmaker stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

The word on the street is that now, the film may be unleashed onto the world stage at the Cannes Film Festival in May with Deadline also reporting that the film could ‘roll out with a full-blown theatrical release through Paramount.’

Set in 1920s Oklahoma, Killers of the Flower Moon depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.

In the film, DiCaprio plays Ernest Burkhart, while Lily Gladstone appears as Mollie Burkhart, an Osage woman who falls in love with Ernest. Early in their relationship, Mollie invites him in for a meal and they form a bond, which is pictured in the debut image from the movie above.

We’ll bring you more on release info for the film as and when it comes in. For now, hit Deadline for more on the story.
