Shogun Films has revealed that their action thriller Renegades has secured a UK release for January 2023 through 101 Films. The film will hit screens om 30th January, according to an official press release.
The film is directed by Daniel Zirilli and boasts a heavyweight international cast that includes Nick Moran (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Lee Majors (The Fall Guy), Danny Trejo (Machete), Louis Mandylor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Patsy Kensit (Lethal Weapon 2), Ian Ogilvy (We Still Kill the Old Way), Paul Barber (The Full Monty), Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott (Nemesis) , Michael Pare (Streets of Fire), Stephanie Beacham (Dynasty), Michael Brandon (Dempsey & Makepeace) and, in one of his final roles, the late Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister (No Holds Barred).
Renegades sees Carver, a courageous former green beret (Majors), murdered by a vicious international drug gang (led by Mandylor’s fearsome Goram), prompting his old special forces comrades Peck, Woody, and Harris (Ogilvy, Murray, Barber) to seek revenge, dispensing their own brand of old school justice on the mean streets of London, as well as protectng Carver’s daughter Judy (Patsy Kensit). Aided by the enigmatic Sanchez (Trejo), they must stay one step ahead of determined Scotland Yard Detective Moore (Sothcot) and stop Goram’s gang from overrunning the city.
Shogun Films is currently in pre-production on acton thrillers Crossfire and Crackdown – both directed by Daniel Zirilli – to shoot towards the end of the year, as well as developing a Renegades sequel, which will see the plucky veterans break an old comrade out of an isolated military prison. “Since setting up Shogun my ambition has been to establish the company as the premiere producer of international action content in the UK and Western Europe,” says Shogun founder Jonathan Sothcott, “and people will finally see that we’re putting our money, where our mouth is with Renegades, which I think, will become an instant cult favourite all over the world“.
