Road to FrightFest 2022: Scott Mann discuss closing night film ’Fall’

This year’s Arrow Video FrightFest will come to a close with the nerve-shredding Fall. A film sure to end the festival on a literal high, Fall is not a film for those afraid of heights. Shot on location close to Death Valley, Fall features some breathtaking camerawork and exceptional stunt work, making it the perfect film for the IMAX screen.

After the tragic death of her husband in a climbing accident, avid rock climber Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) has withdrawn from the world. In an effort to help Becky heal from her past trauma, best friend Hunter (Virginia Gardner) suggests an exhilarating climb to the top of a remote abandoned 2000-feet high radio tower where they will scatter her husband’s ashes. But when sections of the mast’s rickety ladder break off, the girls are stranded at the top in a pulse-pounding, vertigo-inducing, fight for survival against the elements and unforeseen dangers.

Directed by Scott Mann, Fall will also release in cinemas across the UK on Friday 2nd September. Mann might be better known for his work within the action genre, with films like The Tournament and Final Score, but with Fall he perfectly leans into thriller elements. The height might do some of the work for him, but it’s Mann’s talent that really sells it. He knows exactly how to wring the tension, and the FrightFest audience are going to be left clinging onto their seats. As part of THN’s Road to FrightFest series, we spoke with Scott  about the film. We discussed the challenge of creating such a high-concept story and the real heights that the actors soared to.

Fall screens at Arrow Video FrightFest on Monday 29th August at 9:15pm. Tickets for Fall  can be purchased by heading to the FrightFest website here.Fall arrives in UK cinemas on Friday 2nd September 2022.
