First trailer for Damien Chazelle’s next, ‘Babylon’, with Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie

A first trailer has been released for Damien Chazelle’s upcoming Babylon. The film hits US screens on Christmas Day with international audiences getting the film shortly afterwards.

Brad Pitt plays Jack Conrad in Babylon from Paramount Pictures.

The cast includes Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, P.J. Byrne, Lukas Haas, Olivia Hamilton, Tobey Maguire, Max Minghella, Rory Scovel, Katherine Waterston, Flea, Jeff Garlin, Eric Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Samara Weaving, and Olivia Wilde. Justin Hurwitz is doing the music, while Chazelle writes and directs.

The official wording for the new movie is as follows:

From Damien Chazelle, BABYLON is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

This looks absolutely nuts… in a good way. It really looks like it is turning the dial up to eleven, and then some. Apparently, this trailer blew the socks off everyone at TIFF where Chazelle gave a keynote speech at the weekend. I’m sure you’ll agree that this is quite departure from his last movie, First Man, which was released back in 2018.

UK audiences will get this in January.
