A sequel to the 1990s disaster/ action movie Twister is said to be in development. Jane De Bont (Speed) helmed the first movie, which starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton.
Deadline reports that the follow-up will revolve arounf Hunt and Paxton’s daughter in a film that could be titled ‘Twisters’. See what they di there.
No director is firmly attached as yet but Free Solo‘s Jimmy Chin & Elizabeth Chai Vaserhelyi, Dan Trachtenberg (Prey) and Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) are names being mentioned.
The project is set up at Warner Bros. and Universal with Amblin Entertainment behind the movie, and Steven Spielberg himself is said to have ‘flipped’ over the script by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant).
