Jen and Sylvia Soska are two women who have a long history with FrightFest. The event has hosted the World Premieres of both American Mary and Rabid. This weekend they made it a hat trick as On the Edge debuted. The sixth film from the directing duo, On the Edge marks their third original film. What makes this one extra special for FrightFest is that the editor, producer, and director of photography, Luna Wolf, used to walk for the event. Each August she would host on the media wall for FrightFest TV. Back in 2019 she met the Soskas whilst they were debuting Rabid. This weekend the trio returned to share their collaboration with the FrightFest family.
On the Edge doesn’t just give fledgling filmmaker Luna Wolf a chance to showcase her talents, it also sees a change of careers for Aramis Sartorio. Sartorio is no stranger to acting and has been doing so for the last eighteen years. He is unknown to mainstream audiences though as Sartorio’s body of work until now has been within adult entertainment where he performs under the name Tommy Pistol. In On the Edge, Sartorio plays family man Peter. Struggling with some deep-seated trauma, Peter books himself into a thirty-six hour session with dominatrix Mistress Santana, who may, or may not be the devil. In the role of Mistress Santa is Jen Soska herself.
Although a concept that the Soska Sisters have had for a while, On the Edge came together pretty quickly. In fact, at the start of August, not even a second had been filmed. The World Premiere at FrightFest was the culmination of months of hardwork and was a celebration for all involved. Ahead of the first in the world screening of On the Edge, we spoke with Jen and Sylvia Soska, Aramis Sartorio, and Luna Wolf during their time on the media wall. Watch the videos now.
