A new article on Variety reports that an Indiana Jones TV series is being eyes by Lucasfilm for Disney+. Things are said to be at a very early stage with writers being sought for the potential project so, because of that, there are no plot details or who may be involved.
We are obviously getting a new movie next year, so an Indiana Jones TV series would either follow on from that by looking or maybe be a prequel. They may even look at supporting characters to focus upon or go in a completely different direction altogether. Because it has reportedly just gone out to writers it is anyone’s guess at this current time.
The fifth movie will be led by Harrison Ford as the iconic adventurer, reportedly for the last time. Shooting has completed and the movie is now in post-production with a summer 2023 release date set. James Mangold is directing this time ’round, taking the reins from Steven Spielberg who helmed the first four movies.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Toby Jones, Antonio Banderas, and Shaunette Renée Wilson are among the cast of Indiana Jones 5 – or whatever they decide to call it. We’re hoping for a trailer very soon – potentially the one that debut at D23 recently?
The four Indiana Jones films have grossed over $1.3 billion since the first film, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, was released on screens back in 1981.
Back to the Indiana Jones TV series, which was inevitable after Lucasfilm have brought some of their other properties to screens – notably Star Wars and the upcoming Willow, which debuts this month.
We’ll bring you more news on this as and when they become available. More at the end of the link above.
