Searching for the next binge-worthy true crime show? You’re in the right place. Since streaming services hit the main stage, thrilling true crime shows and documentaries have been front and center in popularity – and for good reason.
Today, we’ll cover some of the most compelling crime stories that are absolutely to die for. (Sorry!) Let’s get into it.
The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez
The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez is a tragic tale of an eight-year-old who died due to extensive abuse from his guardians and unfathomable neglect of various social workers. Be warned that this content may be hard to watch due to its sensitive nature. However, this true crime show provides an accurate glimpse into the current problems within the American Social Services industry. Additionally, it presents the case’s landmark trial in which an LA District Attorney prosecuted Gabriel’s mother and her boyfriend for his wrongful death. Perhaps this case would have been more easily solved with better legal counsel, like Zinda Law Group.
Catching Killers
The Catching Killers docuseries focuses on the brave people who capture reprehensible evil. Case in point: these interviews feature detectives speaking on infamous serial killers throughout history. Before you get the chills, know this docuseries comes with a unique angle, providing insight into how these killers were caught. Catching Killers is for you if you’re interested in the how and the why.
The Confession Killer
While nearly every true crime show is about solving crimes, The Confession Killer is about unsolving them. Henry Lee Lucas’s tale is so bone-chilling exactly because it allowed criminals to continue wrongfully murdering people.
Here’s what happened: Henry Lee Lucas falsely confessed to dozens of past crimes. As a result, he’s been attributed to over 600 murders with his friend, Otis Toole. But those cases were closed around the country by impulse officers eager to pin those crimes on Lucas. However, no one bothered to consider that he could be lying. Yikes!
Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist
Evil Genius has a long title, but let’s cut right to the chase. The situation: Brian Wells committed a bank robbery with a bomb strapped to his neck. When the bomb went off, this case turned haywire and, if we’re honest, absolutely bizarre. Trey Borzillieri, a director out of California, began performing a cinematic investigation on this case and found out the bomb was fake. (Gasp!) This investigation led to the discovery of Well’s co-conspirator Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong, which only scratches the surface of this jarring case. Highly recommended.
Wrapping It Up
