A Michael Jackson biopic is reportedly on the way, so says Variety, and Emancipation and Training Day helmer Antoine Fuqua is directing. The film is set up at Lionsgate with shooting reportedly set to start later this year.
Graham King is producing while John Logan (Skyfall) is writing the screenplay for the movie. The film has a title, simply Michael, and is said to span the late pop star’s life from his roots in Gary, Indiana through to his rise as the King Of Pop.
So dig Fuqua as a director. Loved his chamber piece The Guilty last year and his last film, the sprawling Apple movie Emancipation with Will Smith.
Very much looking forward to what he does with this. No cast announced as yet but we’ll keep you posted.
