This week, the new Gerard Butler action movie Plane hits UK cinemas, and it is an absolute cracker. So, hot on the heels of that is some news of his next film, Kandahar, which has just got itself a release date – in the U.S. at least.
Kandahar sees Butler star as Tom Harris, an undercover CIA operative, stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. He must fight his way out, alongside his Afghan translator, to an extraction point in Kandahar, all whilst avoiding the elite special forces tasked with hunting them down.
Ric Roman Waugh directs the film while Navid Negahban, Ali Fazal, Travis Fimmel and Elnaaz Norouzi all line-up among the cast. The release date stateside in 26th May, so expect a UK release to be around then, too.
