The BBC has debuted a teaser trailer for their upcoming adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations. Olivia Colman leads the cast of the limited series as Miss Havisham. Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) penned the script.
Tom Sweet, Fionn Whitehead, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Ashley Thomas, Johnny Harris and Hayley Squires also line up among the impressive cast.
The story revolves around ‘orphan Pip, who spent his childhood as a blacksmith’s apprentice who suddenly receives a windfall from an unknown benefactor that allows him to travel to London and enter high society.’
The new series is a collaboration between the BBC and FX and will air sometime this year.
