I guess this was inevitable but a La La Land musical is on the cards for Broadway audiences. Deadline reports that a new show based on the Oscar-winning movie is in active development with Bartlett Sher directing based on a book written by Ayad Akhtar and Matthew Decker.
Musically, the production will be handled by Justin Hurwitz with lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
The film starred Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as an actor and musician attempting to scale the heights of Hollywood. It was nominated for 14 Oscars winning six.
