New character posters have arrived for next month’s Scream VI and they have caused quite a stir at THN. The more we look at them, the more we can’t help but think that there must be some kind of hidden hint or meaning in them. Each image sees one of the cast members brandishing a knife, Ghostface’s weapon of choice, but are they more than that?
Going round and round the gallery above one can’t help but start to over analyse every tiny detail in them. In each poster a partial image of Ghostface can be glimpsed, but is it the same in each one? Do any of them join together to create a whole Ghostface and thereby give a hint as to who might be behind the mask this time? Why is Gale the only character to be holding her knife pointing down? Is it indicating a trip six-feet under, a change of career or is she merely standing out from the crowd in typical Gale Weathers style? With thirteen candidates to choose from, there are endless possibilities and combinations, and team THN would love to hear your theories, so drop us a comment or tweet.
Thankfully we don’t have long to wait for the big reveal as it is less than a month until Scream VI is unleashed in cinemas. As ever, the plot is being kept tightly underwraps, though we do know that the action shifts from Woodsboro to Manhattan. It’s not the first time Ghostface has travelled the States, but the trailer has teased a bolder killer (or killers). Tickets for the film are already on sale at most of the big cinema chains, with several hosting an advance screening on the 8th March, which will be paired with last year’s, fifth film in the franchise, Scream.
Scream VI will arrive in UK cinemas on Thursday 9th March, with special advance screenings from Wednesday 8th March.
