A trailer has dropped for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Paramount Pictures’ new animated movie based on the popular property. There have been so many TMNT movies over the years but this one has a new creative team behind the scenes: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, both of whom serve as producers on the project. Jeff Rowe directs with Kyler Spears on board as co-director. The film drops on screens this summer.
After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.
Looks like a great new take. Voices come courtesy of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown, Jr., Hannibal Buress, Rose Byrne, Nicolas Cantu, John Cena, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Natasia Demetriou, Ayo Edebiri, Giancarlo Esposito, Post Malone, Brady Noon, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, and Maya Rudolph.
Unlike Rogen and co.’s last animated fare, Sausage Party, this one is from the Nickoloeon stable so expect it to be suitable for all the family.
Here’s the teaser trailer. The film hits screens in August.
