A new clip and poster have been released by Modern Films for the upcoming film Winners, which is set to land on screens on 17th March across the UK and Ireland. The feature is directed by Hassan Nazer, and stars Reza Naji.
The film is described as a celebration of not only classic Iranian cinema, but also world cinema as a whole. Nazer, whilst born in Iran, grew up and lives in Scotland and hails the film as a bridge between his two homes, one that ties cultures peacefully and harmoniously together.
Winners was the Official UK entry for the Best International Feature at the 95th Academy Awards (2023), it won the Audience Award at Edinburgh International Film Festival where it premiered, and took home the Best UK Feature Award at Raindance Film Festival. The film also garnered two awards at the 2022 BIFAs, including Breakthrough Producer (Nadira Murray) and the BIFA Raindance Discovery Award.
