Australian filmmaking brothers Danny and Michael Philippou have been set to direct a new Street Fighter movie. A new project is being set up at Legendary and Capcom
The Philippous exploded this year with the Sundance horror hit Talk To Me (above) which was also screened at the Berlinale. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the film is in the very early stages of development with writers currently being sought. No other details were given.
The video game-to-movie surge is the latest big trend in Hollywood with the huge success of this year’s Mario Bros. movie, the Sonic The Hedgehog films and even Dungeons & Dragons: HOnour Among Thieves, which, I know, technically isn’t a video game.
Talk To Me will be released this summer. We reviewed it at Sundance and you can read our thoughts here.
