Trailer for Venice-debuting documentary ‘Dario Argento Panico’

A festival trailer for the upcoming Dario Argento documentary Dario Argento Panico has landed online courtesy of Screen. The film is a portrait of the legendary Italian horror filmmaker and premieres in the classic section of this year’s festival, which is now in progress. Looking at the trailer, Gaspar Noé, Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn all feature in talking heads in the pic.

 Simone Scafidi directs the ”Panico’, focusing on Argento as ‘he finishes writing the script for his last feature in a hotel as a film crew shoots a movie about him.’

The film zooms in on titular Italian filmmaker Dario Argento as he finishes writing the script for his last feature in a hotel as a film crew shoots a movie about him. It is an immersive deep dive into the creative process and life of Argento and features exclusive interviews with the legendary filmmaker and insight from other acclaimed directors like Gaspar Noé, Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn about his impact on the horror genre and generations of other directors.
