Starring Jim Cummings, Jocelin Donahue, Richard Brake, Nicholas Logan, Faizon Love, Michel Abbott Jr., and Alex Essoe, The Last Stop in Yuma County follows a travelling knife salesman forced to wait for fuel at an isolated rest stop. When two bank robbers arrive during their getaway from a big heist, the knife salesman makes a fateful decision that will change his life forever.
The debut feature from writer and director Francis Galluppi, The Last Stop in Yuma County is a delightful blend of Western and thriller, with a healthy vein of comedy laced throughout. It presents a bold first film, Galluppi unafraid to take some tonal risks. He has also amassed a very impressive and eclectic cast. In addition to the aforementioned cast, The Last Stop in Yuma County also features performances from Barbara Crampton, Sam Huntington and Connor Paolo. The film is essentially a who’s who of independent cinema and seeing everyone share the screen is a real treat for viewers.
Ahead of the world premiere of The Last Stop in Yuma County at Fantastic Fest on Saturday 23rd September, THN were able to speak with Galluppi about the project. Our conversation covered the journey from directing shorts and music videos to making a debut film, collecting an all cast, and why Fantastic Fest attendees should add The Last Stop in Yuma County to their schedules.
