New trailer for ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’ starring Daisy Ridley

A new trailer has arrived for indie film Sometimes I Think About Dying which first premiered at Sundance earlier on this year. Daisy Ridley leads the cast of the movie which has had a US street date announced for 26th January 2024.

Lost on the dreary Oregon coast, Fran (Daisy Ridley) finds solace in her cubicle, listening to the constant hum of officemates and occasionally daydreaming to pass the time. She is ghosting through life, unable to pop her bubble of isolation, when a friendly new coworker, Robert (Dave Merheje), persistently tries to connect with her. Though it goes against every fiber of her being, she may have to give this guy a chance.

Ridley hardly speaks for the vast majority of the film, the insular Fran is an observer rather than a participant. She’s tortured but unrelenting in her patience with life and the young actor nails it with just gesture and movement. I don’t think I’ve seen her better.

From our review of the film at Sundance 2023.

The film is directed by the talented Rachel Lambert. I loved this movie when I managed to catch out at Sundance, giving it four stars in our original review, which was posted at the festival.

We said: “Brilliant acted and crafted, Sometimes I Think About Dying is a subdued though optimistic look at loneliness in contemporary society – an enjoyable one at that.”
