Is Pedro Pascal in talks to play Reed Richards in new ‘Fantastic Four?’

The film is already in pre-production in the UK.

Some potential casting news that has been breaking overnight in that Pedro Pascal may be in talks to play Reed Richards in the new Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four movie.

The news comes to us from trade bible Deadline who are reporting that, while the deal is far from done, there is some serious chatter about the Narcos and The Mandalorian star playing the big Marvel character in a forthcoming movie at the studio. Scheduling is reportedly being looked at with the star having the remainder of ‘Gladiator 2’ to finish, as well as season two of The Last Of Us (which kicks off filming in the new year), as well as various other projects.

Richards is, of course, the leader of the Fantastic Four team and pivotal in terms of casting, but filming is said to be being set up to take place early next year with director Matt Shakman already hard at work in pre-production at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

Fantastic Four has been adapted a few times for the big screen, the most recent with Miles Teller in the role of Reed Richards.
