Those who hope to see Christopher Nolan behind the camera on a James Bond movie might be a little bit disappointed this morning as it looks like he won’t be at the reins for Bond 26, a series reset following the Daniel Craig era. Reports recently suggested that the filmmaker would take on two movies in the upcoming reboot but it seems that this is now very much not the case.
As his latest film Oppenheimer hits the home market, Nolan was out promoting it and said the was asked whether there was any substance behind those Bond rumours: “No, sadly no – no truth to those rumours,” he said to the Associated Press.
The James Bond series is 25 official movies in and, following the end of Daniel Craig’s tenure s 007 in No Time To Die, the franchise will need a reset with the next movie, including a new lead.
More on the next film as it comes in, but I think news will be a little while off yet.
You can watch the full interview with Nolan below.
