Check this out; a new film written by the hugely talented Diablo Cody coming to screens next month, in the U.S. at least. Lisa Frankenstein is described as a rage love story and hits cinemas there on 9th February. You can check out the Lisa Frankenstein trailer in all of its glory in the player below.
Cody is responsible for the likes of Jennifer’s Body and Juno so, if you like those, or her other projects like North Country and Tully, expect some good stuff to feast upon here.
Directed by Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda Williams, the film stars Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest and Carla Gugino.
“Dig up someone special”
The film’s tagline from the poster (below)
Ahead of the Lisa Frankenstein trailer, here’s the full synopsis.
A coming of RAGE love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body) about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way.
Focus Features are distributing this one in the US and as far as I can see there’s not a UK release penciled in as yet – though I welcome any correction on that.
Looks like shooting took place in New Orleans in August and September of 2022 with the film now ready for its full release in just over a month’s time.
