XYZ Films takes the U.S. distribution rights for new Scott Adkins/ Uko Iwais action sci-fi

The film, titled Skyline: Warpath, is the fourth in the series.

The next film in the hit sci-fi/ action series Skyline has bagged itself a stateside distributor. The film, titled Skyline: Warpath, stars Scott Adkins and Uko Awais and is the fourth title in the series. XYZ FILMS has announced that it will take all U.S. distribution rights as per a press release received today.

Louis Mandylor, Randall J. Bacon and Yayan Ruhain round out the main cast of the film while the film is written and directed by Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline).

Set within the “Skyline” universe and five years after the events of Beyond Skyline, Sua (Iko Uwais) leads The Resistance against the aliens. When Sua discovers the powerful alien Radial Gauntlet, he must deal with both the corrupt Eric (Scott Adkins) and the army of alien invaders.
 
In a partnership with XYZ Films, the original Beyond Skyline was distributed by Vertical Entertainment before its festival debut at Sitges Film Festival in Spain in the fall of 2017. The film was met with uproarious approval from festival crowds around the world, playing at Trieste Science+Fiction, Toronto After Dark, Austin Other Worlds, Rio Grind Vancouver, Cinepocalypse Chicago as well as the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival where up and coming O’Donnell was give the “Emerging Voice” Award.  Uwais also has a history of working with XYZ Films, dating back to his star turn in the global success THE RAID franchise, as well as THE NIGHT COMES FOR US, and most recently he co-starred in XYZ’s science fiction actioner ASH, directed by Flying Lotus.   
 
“Since we first met Iko Uwais, Matthew Chausse and I have been pushing to make a star vehicle for him like Warpath. Pairing him with the truly versatile action legend Scott Adkins, along with XYZ films, the company that started things off for us, has been a dream come true,” said Liam O’Donnell.
