The Holdovers was late coming to UK cinemas – post-Christmas at the tail end of January, but we’ve got some news on the planned home release for the Alexander Payne film which is lighting up the awards circuit as we speak.
We follow a cranky teacher (Paul Giamatti, Sideways) at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during the holiday break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. Eventually, he forms an unlikely bond with one of them, a damaged, brainy troublemaker (new star Dominic Sessa), along with the school’s head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam (Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Only Murders in the Building).
The film has a UK 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD release set for the 22nd April (through Dazzler Media) with a digital release planned prior.
