Vanessa Williams is set to play fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly in the upcoming stage version of The Devil Wears Prada. The new musical opens in London’s West End later this year.
The stage work is based on the hit film which starred Meryl Streep as Priestly, as well as Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
The musical features an original score by the iconic Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub, a book by Kate Wetherhead and direction and choreography by 3-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell( Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Pretty Woman, Hairspray).
The musical opens at London’s Dominion Theatre in October and the producers have released a brief teaser video to coincide with the announcement of Williams’ casting.
