Bernardo Bertolucci’s classic ‘The Dreamers’ sets 4K restoration re-release

We’ve just heard that Icon Film Distribution is set to release director Bernardo Bertolucci’s modern classic The Dreamers, fully restored in 4K. The film, first released in 2003, will be available on Ultra HD on Digital on 29 April and 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray disc on 13 May, with more than three hours of bonus materials. The film will have its UK premiere presented in 4K this very evening, 27th February, at BFI Southbank with a Q&A with producer Jeremy Thomas.

From Academy Award winning director Bernardo Bertolucci (The Last Emperor, The Conformist), the original cut of modern classic The Dreamers has been remastered for its 20th anniversary in stunning 4K. The restoration was completed by Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna under the supervision of director of photography, Fabio Cianchetti.

Set against the tumultuous background of the ’68 Paris student riots, experience this unforgettable love letter to cinema and the French New Wave like never before. Starring Michael Pitt (Funny Games, Seven Psychopaths), Louis Garrel (Little Women), and BAFTA winner Eva Green (Casino Royale, Penny Dreadful) in her daring cinematic debut.

The release on two-disc special edition includes the restored feature on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, with more than three hours of bonus materials. Here are the full details.
