FEAR Films and The Independent Horror Society team up to help fund horror short

Whilst making films is hard, getting them financed is even harder. This makes the news that a new global fund keen to support burgeoning voices in the horror field very exciting. FEAR, the leading blockchain game and film development company are joining forces with The Independent Horror Society to help incubate fresh genre shorts. Leading blockchain game and film developer FEAR has just reopened its Global Incubator Fund for a second round, with one of its primary aims being to help support and develop the next generation of global indie horror filmmaking talent.

As part of this initiative, FEAR, in collaboration with long-term supporters of grassroots indie horror The Independent Horror Society, are looking to invest up to $2,000,000 USD (£1,500,000) in a global slate of short horror film projects. As part of the funding successful applicants could also be offered the opportunity to convert their films and concepts into high-end gaming content, opening new doors to IP revenue. The Independent Horror Society founder Chris Nials stated:


“We know that one of the biggest challenges for indie horror filmmakers today is getting hold of the capital needed to turn their short film ideas into reality. And that is exactly where the FEAR Films Global Incubator Fund will help.

Not only are we helping to ensure that no promising talent gets left behind just because they couldn’t find the financing to get their initial ideas off the ground, but we’re also opening up new opportunities to generate revenue from their hard work!”
