The cast of David Ayer’s next film just got a lot bigger. Deadline is reporting that Michael Peña, David Harbour, Jason Flemyng and Arianna Rivas will star opposite Jason Statham in the new action movie Levon’s Trade, which is scripted by none other than Sylvester Stallone (adapted from the original work by author Chuck Dixo. Ayer revised the screenplay.
This is growing into a great little package with Jasons Flemyng and Statham reuniting after appearing alongside one another in the likes of Lock, Stock and Two Smokin’ Barrels, Guy Ritchie’s debut feature. Statham also re-teams with Ayer after their knock-out pairing as star and director on this year’s The Beekeeper which, as I type this, has taken $152 million around the world.
The cast also includes Noemi Gonzalez, Emmett Scanlan, Eve Mauro, Maximilian Osinski, Kristina Poli, Andrej Kaminsky, and Isla Gie.
The synopsis for the film is as follows:
Levon Cade (Statham) left his “profession” behind him to go straight and work in construction. He wants to live a simple life and be a good father to his daughter (Gie). But when his boss’s teenage daughter Jenny (Rivas) vanishes, he’s called upon to re-employ the skills that made him a legendary figure in the shadowy world of black ops. His hunt for the missing college student takes him deep into the heart of a sinister criminal conspiracy creating a chain reaction that will threaten his new way of life.
The project is now shooting in London with a release set to hit cinemas stateside through Amazon MGM Studios and then on Prime Video around the world, including, presumably, the UK.
