Not content with producing and starring in 2023’s biggest film, Barbie, Margot Robbie is set to monopolise a board game adaptation onto the big screen with – yes – Monopoly.
Variety reports that Robbie and her LuckyChap production company will bring a big screen version of the game to screens with Hasbro Entertainment also behind the new pic.
The trade says that the announcement was made at this week’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas, which is ingoing, but it is unclear as to how the filmmakers will adapt the very popular game into a film narrative. The film is set up at Lionsgate.
Lionsgate earlier announced a teaming with Blumhouse where they will collaborate on a series of projects starting with a new version of The Blair Witch Project.
